#16

I initially had intended on getting to 26 acts this year for my birthday but I think I might end with this one. I had been thinking about this for a few weeks now, and as of last week I made the decision to make this a part of my birthday. Within just the last month, I have heard of four women/parents in my life that have unfortunately lost their babies. Each new story I heard was heartbreaking and even as an outsider difficult to process. I thought it would be best to honor these four beautiful souls that did not get enough time on this earth. Tori and I walked today to a beautiful serene park to release these four balloons for the families. I have not told any of the mothers/parents of this, and I will not disclose their names. One is a close friend, one is a classmate from high school, and two coworkers from my previous job. After we released the balloons I spent the next few minutes walking and crying. My heart is heavy for these families.

I'm gonna count this one! I rarely get the chance to spend some quality time with just my dad. We went out to dinner together and watched the blazer game. I was so happy!

This one was great. To include my students in on my big day, we did an "act of kindness challenge" where each student went around school to see how many acts they could do for others. This is how many they did in less than one hour!

Dinner for the family! Holy cow so many people showed up. I made homemade chicken fettuccini with the works. It was so very great to have everyone here.

And my yearly donation to goodwill!

Mom had the idea to go to a local church to drop off needed items for individuals in jail/prison.

Went to lunch at Red Robin. I originally had planned on paying for someone's lunch who was eating alone. As we began to eat, a young family sat near us. I decided at that point it was better to help pay for their meal.

Staff treats for the staff at the group home! They returned the favor and bought me a very sweet birthday card.

I liked this one a lot. We bought an extra coffee while at Starbucks and we stopped on the side of the road to give it to a woman waiting for the bus. I don't think she spoke much English but she seemed really appreciative of the coffee.
